Lab Coordinator
Chemistry Stockroom Manager
• Dress
appropriately for work (closed toed shoes, lab coat, name badge).
• Follow and be an example of proper laboratory safety rules (see attached
rule sheet).
• Be responsible for filling out and turning in time cards on time.
• Attend Chemical Hygiene Plan training.
• Be evaluated at the end of the semester by the laboratory instructor,
laboratory technician, or lab coordinator on their work efforts.
• Preparation of laboratory experiments.
• Preparation of solutions.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Provide suggestions on improvements of laboratory exercises.
• Create guide sheets for instructors emphasizing important equipment,
procedures, safety issues, substitutions, and revisions for individual
experiments.
• Prepare ordering sheets for the reordering of chemicals, material,
and equipment.
• Perform cleaning duties. Such as cleanup of glassware, chemicals,
solutions, equipment, and proper placement of waste.
• Perform grading as requested by the department instructor.
• Perform duties to help improve the quality of the science building
and laboratory as directed by the lab coordinator or chemistry stockroom
manager.
