Each lab is minimum of 3 hours a week.

Lab Coordinator

• Dress appropriately for work (closed toed shoes, lab coat, name badge).
• Follow and be an example of proper laboratory safety rules (see rule sheet).
• Be responsible for filling out and turning in time cards on time.
• Attend Chemical Hygiene Plan training.
• Be evaluated at the end of the semester by the laboratory instructor or lab coordinator on their work efforts.
• Read and be familiar with the assigned lab prior to showing up for the lab.
• Listen carefully to the pre-lab instructions given by the instructor so that you will be teaching the same material to the students.
• Assist the instructor during the laboratory period.
• Assist the students in completing the lab exercises. They are to assist and not to readily give out answers to the questions.
• Assist the instructor before the lab period begins to prepare and clean up all areas when the lab period is over. This includes washing glassware & equipment, making solutions, setting out raw materials, and cleaning the dry erase board for the next lab period.
• Perform grading duties as requested by the instructor.
• Assist in writing quizzes and lab practical questions.
• Assist in teaching lab exercises as issued by the instructor.
• Other duties as assigned by the lab instructor, lab coordinator, or other departmental staff.
