Employment
Our department has many employment opportunities for those students who want to earn money and strengthen their science knowledge.
Those students interested must fill out all the appropriate employment paperwork and attend safety training (except the course grader and Peer Lead Team Learning Leader position) prior to being hired. Current job listings and information will be posted on the bottom floor of the Wynn Science Center by the elevator and outside the lab technician's office, Wynn-10.

Scholarship Opportunities
In
addition to external and school-wide scholarships, the science departments
at APU provide scholarships to promising science majors.
The largest program is the "Science and
Math Scholarship Program", which awards five four-year scholarships
to entering freshmen. This program arranges for a yearly stipend in
exchange for research or other science related activities. In addition,
Chemistry offers the Stauffer scholarship to a few Chemistry majors
each year.

Student
Research Projects and Internships
Several faculty members at the department have on-campus research in place to give majors the possibility to use their scientific knowledge in a problem-based setting. Students are also involved in literature research for future books and articles in the department. In addition, students every year go outside the department for local and international internships, which are mediated by the department.
