• Dress
appropriately for work (closed toed shoes, lab coat).
• Follow and be an example of proper laboratory safety rules (see lab rule
sheet).
• Be responsible for filling out and turning in time cards (or record sheet)
on time.
• Attend Chemical Hygiene Plan training.
• Be evaluated at the end of the summer by the directing faculty, research
laboratory technician, on their work efforts.
• Be familiar with MSDS on chemicals and solutions.
• Preparation of laboratory experiments.
• Preparation of solutions.
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Attend meetings as described by the directing faculty member.
• Expect training in research protocols by research lab technician and
directing faculty member.
• Be made available for research project conferences and/or presentations
in a small group research or seminar type audience/ format.
• Complete assignments as defined by the directing faculty member.
• Understand that work schedule may be variable and perhaps after hours.
• Keep a research notebook for procedures notes and data (supplied by research
instructor or department).
• Perform specialized duties as assigned by supervisor.
