Sakai Companion

eCompanionThe second type of online course use is the ‘hybrid’ course. This is where the class physically meets in space and time, and an online source is used to:

-contain course materials,
-manage course learning assignments and grading,
-and extend the learning environment outside the classroom.

The course site is less interactive and more static than an Sakai Course site. It can be thought of as a storage place for course resources and instructions for applied learning activities

Occasionally, this model also partially emulates the Sakai Course model in that it contains virtual learning activates that supplant some of the real-time course meetings.
