6-3 ~ Senior ~ Right Fielder ~ Long Beach, California
Ryan Beaver was 7-for-12 (.583) at the plate with 4 home runs, 1 double, 6 runs scored and 10 RBI last week as Biola won 3 of 4 games. In the win against Redlands, he was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, a home run and 4 RBI. In the win over Vanguard, Beaver had 2 home runs, 3 runs and 3 RBI. In the loss to Vanguard, he was 3-for-3 at the plate with 1 homer, 2 runs, and 2 RBI. He has a total of 12 round trippers this season. Beaver was named the NAIA Region II Baseball Player of the Week.

Mitch Newell had a perfect ERA in 7 innings and 2 outings last week, picking up the win in the Cougars' 7-2 victory over The Master's. For the week, he surrendered 5 hits, 1 unearned run and 2 walks while striking out 6. In the Cougars 12-9 victory over Concordia, he quited the Eagle bats with 3 innings of shut out baseball to allow Azusa Pacific to rally for the win. Newell was chosen as the NAIA Region II Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Matt Dzama was 7-for-18 (.389) at the plate while extending his hitting streak to 6 games as No. 13-ranked Azusa Pacific pushed its winning streak to 9 straight with 4 wins last week. Dzama had 7 runs, 2 doubles, 4 RBI and 2 stolen bases. He was named the NAIA Region II Baseball Player of the Week.

Rick Zemlok pitched a complete-game shutout to defeat conference opponent Concordia. In 9 innings of work, he allowed 8 hits, but struck out 9 and did not walk any batters. It was his 11th complete game and second shutout of his 2-year career at Westmont. Zemlok was selected as the NAIA Region II Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

6-0 ~ Senior ~ Outfielder ~ Calabasas, California
In 3 Concordia victories last week, Rick Stockton was 7-for-15 (.467) with 5 runs and 2 stolen bases. In a 7-6 GSAC win over Vanguard, Stockton was 4-for-6 with 2 runs, an RBI and 2 stolen bases. He currently has a 7-game hitting streak and has hit safely in 31 of the Eagles' 36 games this year.

In his lone appearance of the week, Jeremy Elliot pitched Point Loma Nazarene to a 4-0 victory over The Master's, limiting the Mustangs to just 3 hits in his 9 innings of work. He struck out 3 and walked 3 in the process.

Steve Ferreira was 7-for-12 (.583) at the plate with 3 runs, a homer and 5 RBI as Cal Baptist won 2-of-3 road games last week. He was 4-for-5 with 2 RBI in the winat Concordia. In the 10-7 win at Sonoma State, ranked No. 11 in the NCAA Div. II, Ferreira was 2-for-4 with 2 runs. In the 9-8 loss to Sonoma State the following day he had a 2-run homer. Ferreira was selected as the NAIA Region II Baseball Player of the Week.

In his only appearance of the week, Tony Orozco pitched Cal Baptist to a 4-3 victory over Concordia. He gave up 5 walks, 3 hits and 2 unearned runs in 7.1 innings of work. Ferreira was named the NAIA Region II Baseball Player of the Week.

Andy Whieldon was an impressive 16-for-20 (.800) at the plate with 5 doubles, a homer, 7 runs and 6 RBI as Cal Baptist won 4-of-5 games last week. Whieldon was a perfect 7-for-7 with 3 doubles, a home run, 4 runs scored and 3 RBI in a doubleheader sweep of No. 9-ranked Azusa Pacific. He currecntly has an 8-game hitting streak for the Lancers who have won 6 of their last 8 games. Whieldon was named the NAIA Region II Baseball Player of the Week.

In 2 appearances, Ben Orr gave up 2 earned runs and 6 walks while striking out 9 as Biola won 4-of-5 games on the road last week. He threw a 3-hit, complete game shut out at nationally ranked Sonoma State. Orr held Point Loma Nazarene to 2 runs in 6 innings of work and then went on to hit the game-winning 2-run homer in the tenth inning of a 6-4 Biola win. Ben Orr was chosen as the NAIA Baseball National Pitcher of the Week.

6-3 ~ Sophomore ~ Outfielder/Pitcher ~ Santa Ana, California
Chad Chop hit safely and scored at least one run in each of 4 games last week. He was 6-for-14 (.429) at the plate with 6 runs, 2 doubles, 1 home run and 8 RBI as Vanguard won 3-of-4 games and clinched a spot in the NAIA Region II Playoffs, the Lions' first since 1998. In the loss to Azusa Pacific, he was 3-for-5 (.600) at the plate with 1 double, 3 runs and 2 RBI. In the win over Azusa Pacific, Chop hit a grand slam to give the Lions the lead for good. Chop was selected as the NAIA Region II Baseball Player of the Week.

6-3 ~ Freshman ~ RHP ~ Canyon Lake, California
Freshman Jeff Johnson pitched a complete-game 3-hit shut out as Point Loma Nazarene defeated La Verne, 4-0. He struck out 9 batters while walking only 3. Johnson was named the NAIA Region II Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

MATT DZAMA ~ Azusa Pacific University
6-0 ~ Junior ~ Outfielder ~ Covina, California
Matt Dzama was 5-for-7 (.714) at the plate and broke school and GSAC records with 4 home runs and 13 RBI in No. 12-ranked Azusa Pacific's doubleheader sweep over No. 4-ranked Biola, snapping the GSAC champion Eagles' 12-game conference winning streak. In the first game, he was 5-for-5 at the plate hitting a 3-run homer in the first inning, another 3-run shot in the third, a grand slam in the fourth and a 2-run shot in the eighth. He also had a run-scoring single in the sixth inning to account for 13 of the Cougars' runs in the 14-4 victory. His 4 home runs and 13 RBI in one game also tie NAIA records.

5-11 ~ Senior ~ LHP ~ Chandler, Arizona
In 7.1 innings of work, Anthony Walker struck out 7 batters and allowed only 3 singles and 1 walk as Vanguard defeated Concordia 8-0. He lowered his team-leading ERA to 4.04 and improved his overall record to 9-3 and his GSAC record to 8-2.
